Rosita Fu
Hello! I'm Rosita, a first-year PhD in the
Data Science Insitute at the University of Chicago.
There are so many things I love about data science, the probability
and statistical puzzles, the visual challenges of communicating effectively, and at its very core,
the deeper truths that are
accessible to us via statistical thinking. Mathematical modeling
and visualization have changed
how I understand the world around me,
and shown me how invaluable data literacy
is in all aspects of life.
I am an avid Python, Jupyter,
and Figma user.
I am proficient at R, and vanilla JS,
currently in the midst of learning
d3 and Svelte.
I graduated from Caltech with a B.S. in Chemistry in 2022, spent two years at a
public policy lab at Rice University, then moved to Maryland and worked at a biotech startup focused on toxicology.
In my free time I enjoy knitting and reading, and have just recently started taking photography more seriously.
